As we still have some schools and students catching up with the challenges over the last four weeks, I think we had better have a break from the major challenges.

Instead, if you want to leave some comments on other student blogs, remember to visit the Sept students 2010 page and check out the interests of students who are your age.  Maybe add some interesting links to your blogroll, ready for the game next week.

If you want to write a post, then think about a place, from the past or the present, where you would like to live or go for a holiday or vacation.

  • Why do you want to go there?
  • What intrigues you about that particular place?
  • How long would you like to stay?
  • Include some images or maps with your post.

Also if you are wanting to have your blog upgraded so you can use embed code, then leave an idea for an activity on this post linked here. Edublogs are giving away many upgrades for the best ideas.

See you next week for some more exciting activities.

  1. Hi Miss W, my grade has also been loving the blog challenges. They all learn at such different speeds, I have modelled how to write particular posts for some kids in a very slow step by step fashion, while others are just off and running and taking over the blog.
My students are still getting images from all over the internet for their posts etc, and I know we are supposed to use creative commons however I am not sure of the best way to do this. Do you have an old post on this, or any other suggestions about how to teach this to the kids?

    Regards

    Sam

  2. Dear Miss W,
Thank you for your thoughts on my post. But do you have any suggestions at all how I can change my avatar? Even today I changed it again and the new picture popped up but it is still the old one that is used in my comments.

    1. Brendan,
What you might have to do is clear the cache history of your computer. How to do this will depend upon if you have an Apple Mac or a PC. Check with your teacher or an ICT person in your school. Make sure you then refresh your page a few times.

  3. Hi, it’s Stephen from ‘The Ins and Outs’ Blog in New Zealand. I am writing this comment to say that my class ‘The Digiridoos’ are really enjoying taking part in the Student Blogging Challenge. We are learning lots of new skills and even I the teacher are learning new things.

It’s great that you are giving us a break this week as we need to catch up because we got behind due to the school holidays.

I notice in the picture on this post that the Kit Kats are green. Are all Kit Kats green in Australia?

    1. Hi Stephen,
Decided I would find an unusual image of a Kit Kat and thought the green tea version fit the criteria. We have the normal ones over here, have never seen the green ones though I am in Tasmania. Maybe they are found in Sydney, but I would suggest maybe China or Japan.

Glad you and the students are enjoying the challenge. The break was needed as many southern hemisphere schools have had a holiday recently and need to catch up.
