Welcome to the organizational post for the 12th Student Blogging Challenge.
The first challenges will be published on 9th March, 2014.
Registration forms for classes, students and mentors will be published this weekend. These will each be on a separate post with a Google form asking for certain information. Once you have registered as a class or student, you will be able to visit the participant pages which will be found in the header area of this blog beginning March 1.
Mentors when registering, I will only need name and a way to contact you to send reminders such as an email address. The results from this form will not be published, but you will also be asked to write a short bio in the comment area of the registration post.
We will be having a badge again that can be added to your blog. Watch out for a post by the Edublogs team about how to add the badge to your sidebar.
This year I am hoping some classes will run one of the challenge weeks. But this is still being discussed. If your class would like to run the challenge for one week, please leave a comment mentioning the theme you would like to set challenges for eg global issues, history, my country, nature, and the date for it to be published.
Is your class going to take part in the March 2011 challenge with a class blog?
Have you set up your class blog yet?
If your answer is no, then check out the second teacher challenge which will be starting mid February. They will be walking you through setting up the blog and using it with students. There will also be discussion questions where you can network with other teachers.
If you want to get ahead then work through these pages from the Edublogger – these activities will be similar to those in the teacher challenge sessions.
Keep checking this blog for a registration form for classes that will appear in mid February.
If you have students who will be registering their own blogs, there will be a separate form for them to fill out also mid February.

A few changes this year to the way teachers register for the blogging challenge. Ronnie, from Edublogs, has created a form that will allow us to have a directory on the Sept. 2010 classes page. The directory will show the latest three posts from your class blog as well as a thumbnail of your blog.
UPDATE UPDATE We have found this directory is not working well when using Internet Explorer. If possible use Firefox when viewing the Sept. 2010 Classes page.
So here we go:
1. Fill in the form below.
2. On the sidebar, fill in the details for the mailing list chimp.
Every three or four weeks we will be sending out a newsletter regarding the challenge. This will go to each person who has filled in the mailing list chimp.
If you and your friends are going to take part in the student blogging challenge, beginning in mid- September, then please fill in the Google form below. Remember to come back here to check out the activities once they are posted.
Tell your teacher that you are taking part in the challenge as well.
Just over one week until the student blogging challenge begins.
Are you ready to push yourself?
So far we have had over 50 classes from 10 different countries register: Australia, USA, New Zealand, Argentina, Mexico, Canada, Norway, UK, Hong Kong and UAE. Check out their blogs on the page link on the right called ‘March 2010 classes’.
We have also had over 170 students register with their own blogs mainly from USA, Canada and Australia. Make sure you check out the link for the page on the right: ‘March 2010 students’. Each couple of days I will be re-sorting the list of participants so they are in order by age.
If you want to leave a comment here telling me what topics you would like to write about in the challenge, that might help me with my forward planning.
Teachers who have registered classes, I hope you have been keeping up with the pre-challenge activities for your class blog at TheEdublogger – written by the fantastic Sue Waters.

The time has arrived for students to register their personal blogs if they are taking part in the student blogging challenge for March 2010. Please register only once and check a couple of days later that your name and blog is on the page to the right called ‘March 2010 students’. If your name is not there, I will have taken it off because you had a wrong URL most likely.
There are two things included in this post for teachers to do.
Fill in the mailchimp email below. This will allow us to send out to all classes a newsletter or reminder in one mail out without Sue Waters or Miss W having to do separate emails.
Fill in the google form which will then have results shown in the page on the right called ‘March 2010 classes’
Next Sunday, there will be two registration forms – one for classes and one for students. They will be google forms embedded in the post but there will also be a link in case you can’t get google forms at school.
Please make sure you fill in the correct form. Once you have registered, please check the next day on the page for students or classes to make sure your information is correct. Every Sunday I will be re-sorting the student page according to the country you are from. I will also be deleting any registrations that don’t work correctly – wrong URL given.
I hope you all enjoy the challenge this year.
