- FAQs: Please read through the Frequently Asked Question guide which explains more about the challenge.

It’s just in case we need to contact you throughout the challenge. This will not sign you up for the mailing list. Please do that here if you haven’t already.
Before the challenge begins on October 6
There are a few things you can do prior to the challenge to make sure you’re ready to go on October 6.
Check your registration
- A few days after registering, check the page with the list of participating classes. Look for ‘2019 Classes’ in the header area of this blog. Check this list prior to October 6 to make sure you are on the list and your details are correct.
- If you are not listed on the participants’ page, register again being careful that your blog URL is correct.
Other ways to get ready
- Check out the family information note and consider whether this would be useful to give to your students’ families.
- Consider starting the Edublogs Blogging With Students self-paced course if you’re new to blogging and need to get your blog set up before beginning.
- Make sure you have at least one post published on your blog so others can leave comments when they visit.
- Start visiting other classes of similar grade level on the participant list if you have time.
- Spread the word! Invite your colleagues and PLN to join in. The Twitter hashtag is #STUBC.
There will be some more reminder posts on the Student Blogging Challenge site before we begin.

Hi. Unfortunately a family emergency has arisen and I will be leaving my class in the hands of a relief teacher for 4 weeks, so I have made the decision to leave the challenge for this year. I have the next challenge marked in my calendar and I’m looking forward to joining you all again. My blog is http://www.jemimat.edublogs.org
Kind regards
Jemima
Hi Jemima,
So sorry to hear you’re going through a tough time and no problems at all. We look forward to having you join us in the future!
All the best,
Kathleen
I have been so busy and just now getting my class signed up. Hopefully, this year we can stay on top of it.
Sounds great, Kim!
HI Kathleen,
On the recommendation of a co-worker I have just joined KIDblog for the first time and my class will not have access to join until Monday. I wouId like to be part of your challenge, but want my kids to join individually, rather than as a whole class. I realize the datefor registration is Oct 6th, is there anyway we can join the challenge on Monday the 7th? Thanks so much for your help with this.
Hi Gina,
Great to have you on board! Of course. October 6th isn’t the date that activities need to be started or completed. Each week, there is one topic and activities released, and participants generally work on them throughout that week whenever they have time. However, some participants only have time to take part every second week and that’s fine too. So rest assured that any schedule that works for you is okay.
Let’s know if I can help more.
Thanks,
Kathleen
If I see 5 different 4th grade classrooms over the course of a week in the media center… and I have registered 1 class so far… is this set up to where I could do the activities by using it with different classes during the week or should I register each of my 4th grade classes and try to do the activities with each class separately? I thought about doing individual student blogs, but have never done blogging, so thought it may be better to do it as a class or classes to learn about it. I wasn’t sure if as a teacher I would need to check each student post before allowing it to be submitted or something like that… which would be tough with having 125 4th graders. Let me know if you have suggestions on the best way to try this. I am not sure about the timing of this all since I have a lot to get in with them each day they come to my class. Also, I am not receiving the confirmation in my email as someone else stated below. Thanks for any help you can give me with these questions.
Hi there,
It sounds like you might want to register the 4 classes? I think you’d have to do the activities with each class separately if you want all the students to learn about blogging? The challenge is flexible. So if you only want to do the activities every second week for example, that’s fine.
You could always try student blogs for the March 2020 challenge!
As for email confirmation, do you mean you have subscribed for email updates about the challenge? There is no confirmation for simply filling out the registration form but you can check to see if your details are correct on this page https://studentchallenge.edublogs.org/oct-2019-classes/
Thanks!
Kathleen
Very excited to learn some new ideas!
Hi,
I am trying to register for the blog competition. I am not receiving the confirm your address email. Please advise.
Hi there,
Are you trying to register as a class or a student?
Or are you trying to join the mailing list?
Thanks,
Kathleen
My students will have their own Google Site and those Sites will be linked on my classroom blog (an Edublogs site). I was wondering if it is possible to have my class blog registered in the challenge, as well has having my students register their individual Google sites on the Student Registration? Or does it have to be one or the other?
Hi Roberta,
You’re welcome to register both as a class and students. Also, feel free to fill out the weekly Google Form for your class blog post if you do one (as well as asking the students to submit their URL for their own blog).
Hope that makes sense?
Thanks!
Kathleen
